IBERIA — Northmor operated on Chillicothe Southeastern and removed any chance of victory with a 28-16 procedure in Ohio high school football on Friday night in the playoff opener at Northmor High School.
It marked the school’s first-ever playoff win.
The Golden Knights drew first blood by forging a 12-0 margin over the Panthers after the first quarter. But Southeastern closed to within 12-8 at the intermission. Northmor added a TD and the to-point conversion to carry a 20-8 lead into the fourth quarter. The two schools shadow-boxed through an evenly-played, 8-8 fourth quarter.
Third-seeded Northmor advances to the regional semifinals next week against second-seeded Fort Frye, a 34-14 winner over Fairbanks on Friday night. The OHSAA will announce the site of that matchup on Sunday.
