Barbara A. (Barb) Rodeniser (Hiles), 84 of Utica passed away on August 20, 2025 at Licking Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 27, 1941 in Newark, OH to the late Lester F. and Mary M. (Chidester) Hiles.

Barb was a 1959 graduate of Utica High School. She was a member of the Utica Church of Christ where she was known as the candy lady. She was also a member of the Utica area Jaycee-ettes. She worked as a waitress at Bob and Betty Biggs Restaurant, Four Pines Restaurant and Utica Schools. She was a babysitter for many kids in town and owned and operated B-J’s Drive-in. Barb loved to do facepainting at the Utica Homecoming and Ice Cream Festival.

Barb married the love of her life, John Rodeniser on June 12, 1959. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John Rodeniser; sons, Cliff (Becky) Rodeniser, Troy (Lisa) Rodeniser and Todd (Jenn) Rodeniser; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Ed) Hiles; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph (Butch) Hiles; sisters, Mildred (Hiles) Poland, Garnet (Hiles) Davis, Mary Ellen (Mert Hiles) Barber; and great-grandson, Haiden J. Wright.

The family will receive friends from 5-8pm on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave., Utica where the funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday with Pastor Doug Swan officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn.
