Rick Gilson, 75, of Frazeysburg, OH passed away on July 20, 2025, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, OH. He was born on January 16, 1950 to Donald and Erma (Gump) Gilson in Ravenna, OH.
Rick was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, OH. He retired from Ariel Corporation where he worked as a machinist. Rick and Jan enjoyed riding motorcycles. They enjoyed taking the motorcycle camping around the country. Rick was a big Nascar fan. He enjoyed fixing and building things and working on home improvement projects that Jan had for him. Rick was affectionally know at the “Baby Whisperer” at church where he enjoyed holding and comforting babies.
Rick is survived by his wife Jan of 56 years; brothers Mick Gilson of Garrettsville, OH, Nickey Gilson of Streetsboro, OH and a sister Vicki Hunter of Minnesota; brothers-in-law Tom (Rhonda) Edgington and Al (Sharon) Edgington; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law Gail “Muffy” Gilson and sister-in-law Linda Edgington.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Rick’s memory to the Frazeysburg Volunteer Fire Department, 26 W 2nd St, Frazeysburg, OH 43822.
A Celebration of Life will take place on August 3, 2025 at Faith Baptist Church, 8764 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050 at 1:00pm.
