Sue Ann Zinsmeister, 71, of The Laurels of Mount Vernon, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 13, after a long battle with Huntington’s disease.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Richard (“Dick”) Zinsmeister and Lois Ann Spearman Zinsmeister Howard.
Sue was a 1972 graduate of Fredericktown High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Franklin University.
Sue was a very social and caring individual who loved spending time with her family and friends, especially while camping. She was very active in her church, participating in EMMAUS and many other organizations in Findlay, Ohio, where she spent most of her life.
In her early years, Sue belonged to Rainbow Girls, Grange, Eastern Star, and 4-H, holding staff positions at Camp Ohio.
Over the years, Sue held various positions. She was an air traffic controller in Michigan, worked at Superior Metal, and served in the Ohio prison system in Lima, Ohio.
She is survived by her sister, Diana (Tim) Holmes of Brooksville, Florida; her brother, Thomas (Sharon) Zinsmeister of Fredericktown; and nieces Jennifer (Chris) Hammond, Courtney (Jeff) Bilello, Amanda (Biff) Frazer, Sarah (Josh) Shinnaberry, and Danielle (Clay) McNeely; as well as multiple great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
