LEXINGTON — The Permco Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio — the longest continuously-running spectator event at the track in its 43rd year – will carry 20 races in total this year.
The weekend will feature a mix of vintage and contemporary racing action from seven SpeedTour series.
SpeedTour is a collection of dynamic racing series ranging from Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) racing providing “history in motion” to the ever-popular Trans Am Series.
The lineup also features late model Porsche and Ferrari competitors from International GT, Prototype Sprint Series Association racing, plus open-wheel competition from the rising stars of the sport racing in the Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas), Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) and Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC). Two car shows happen, the British Car Showdown on Saturday (June 21) and Concours d’Elegance on Sunday (June 22).

Registration for both shows is in the infield of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and ends at 11 a.m. each day.

SVRA race groups
Group 1: Recognized small displacement production sports cars and sedans.
Group 2: Pre-1973 Formula cars conforming to the SVRA classic formula car regulations. Other cars may be accepted by invitation as appropriate.
Group 3: Recognized series-produced sports cars and sedans in production prior to 1972.
Group 4: Limited produced sports cars, racing “specials” and GT cars built or in production prior to 1960. This group represents the “Golden Age” of sports car racing in the United States and Europe. Other appropriate cars by invitation.
Group 5: Small bore World Sports Car Championship and prototypes as raced between 1960 and 1972. All three classes of Sports 2000 cars, SRF’s as well as WSR cars.
Group 6: Selected big-bore production sports cars and sedans through 1972.
Group 7: World Championship of Makes sports cars on slicks. Under 2-Liter sports cars as raced after 1972. Can Am cars as raced after 1967. Center-seat Can Am cars, SCCA ASR & BSR.
Group 8: Recognized series-produced sports cars and sedans in production prior to 1979, and later cars by invitation.
Group 9: Wings and slicks formula cars complying with SVRA post-1973 formula car regulations.
Group 10: Select GT sports cars and sedans raced between 1973 and 1999. NASCAR Cup and Busch Series stock cars. Trans-Am and production-based contemporary as raced from 1999 to five years from today’s date, and TA2 cars. International GT Series will run in this group.
Group 11: GTP/Group C, ALMS, PSCR, WSC, Grand Am prototype cars and SCCA P1 & P2 as raced from 1981 to five years from today’s date. Prototype Sprint Series Association entries will run in this group.
Group 12: Select GT sports cars and sedans raced between 1973 and five years prior to today’s date. These are Production-based cars such as Motorola Cup or any other stock / prepared racing series. Early IMSA GTO and GTU small bore cars will be accepted on an individual basis.
Trans Am Series
America’s Road Racing Series – The Trans Am Series offers a feast for the eyes and ears with races featuring 70+ grids populated by Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers and Corvettes in four classes, TA, TA2, SGT and GT.

International GT Series
International GT is a North American racing series that includes three different championships for late model Porsche and Ferrari competitors.
Home primarily to sportsman drivers, with the occasional professional driver/coach joining the action in endurance races, International GT annually presents the Stuttgart Cup, Mission Foods action in endurance races, International GT annually presents the Stuttgart Cup, action in Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy and The Maranello Cup championships.
Saturday, 1 race: 25-minute timed race (with SVRA Group 10)

Prototype Sprint Series Association
The Prototype Sprint Series Association presented by Hankook (PSSA) was founded by Parella Motorsports Holdings (PMH) in 2023 to host prototype race cars in a sprint race format at some of the most iconic road courses in America.
FR Americas
Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) is America’s second step on the Road to F1 and the FIA development ladder. Formerly known as F3 Americas Championship, FR Americas is open to competitors ages 16 and up.

Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) is America’s first step on the Road to F1 and the FIA development ladder.
The championship was created to offer young racers from around the world the opportunity to take the first step from karting into single-seater racing.

Ligier Junior Formula Championship
Step one on the Parella Motorsports Holdings’ (PMH) Open-Wheel Ladder is the Ligier Junior Formula Championship (Ligier JFC). Providing young karters with an opportunity to develop their skills and learn the basics while competing on the most cost-efficient ladder system with the lowest cost per mile in North America, drivers from around the world turn to Ligier JFC to begin their single-seater careers.
