David C. Alberts, age 76, of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Knox Community Hospital.
He was born on January 8, 1949, in Knox County to the late Orlo and Evelyn (Davis) Alberts. David was employed for many years at Potimkin Industries where he was a machinist. He attended Faith Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening. He also enjoyed playing his Banjo. But most of all, David loved the time he spent with his family and close friends.
He is survived by his wife, of over 34 years, Debra (Harrington) Alberts; his daughters, Angela Alberts, Christina (Larry) Ballengee; his son Kevin Alberts; five grandchildren, Megan Ballengee, Brandon Smith, Matthew Stover, Chase Ballengee, Derick Gallagher; four great grandchildren, Tinley Brady, Liam Brady, Oaklynn Gallagher, Walker Brady; and his sister Eva Alberts.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sisters Wilma Alberts and Becky Hager; and his brothers, Gary, Chuck, Don, Bob and Ralph Alberts.
Friends may call on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home from 4-6pm. A service will follow, beginning at 6pm, with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating.
