Sean Wible, 25, of Mount Vernon was charged at 2:55 a.m. last Sunday (7/6) with vandalism.

Vernon Kanode, 18, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday for illegal possession and consumption of alcohol.

Jesse West, 18, of Mount Vernon was also arrested at 1:15 a.m. on Sunday for illegal possession and consumption of alcohol.

Christopher Goudy, 22, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 6:15 p.m. on Monday for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Traffic Citations

Judith Gump, 68, of Mount Vernon was cited at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday for failing to devote full time and attention to driving.

Jean Bostick, 82, of Mount Vernon was cited at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday for illegally turning at an intersection.

Jason Blair, 24, of Mount Vernon was cited at 10:25 a.m. on Saturday for driving under a suspended license, for failing to control his vehicle, and for failing to stop after a crash on the street.

Accidents

At 10:25 a.m. on Saturday, Jason P. Blair, 24, of Mount Vernon was traveling westbound on W. Gambier Street in her 2006 Hyundai Sonata.  He crossed the center line and struck a parked 1998 Jeep Cherokee, owned by Jennifer L. Kolasky, which was parked alongside the roadway near S. Elm Street.  Blair continued westbound and left the area.  He was later found and cited for the incident.

At midnight on Sunday, a 2010 Buick Enclave owned by Karen D. Koch was parked in the Kroger parking lot when it was struck by an unknown suspect who fled the scene.

Incidents

At 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, an officer responded to an information call at Knox Community Hospital.

At 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, a  hypodermic needle and spoon were found at Arch Park.  A suspect was identified.

At 5:10 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to an alarm at Moundview Cemetery.

At 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, an officer was dispatched to a residence on the 000-block of Brook Run Court on a disturbance call.  A Kent bicycle had been stolen and a suspect was identified.

At 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, a victim reported a theft from a residence on the 000-block of S. Jackson Street.  Two cases, each containing about twelve arrow heads, had been taken.  Their value was estimated at $400.00.

At 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, the Mount Vernon Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on the 100-block of Kirk street on report of a fire.  They requested police assistance.  Various underage persons were charged with illegal consumption.

At 1:35 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 300-block of Greenwood Avenue.  A suspect was identified.

At 6:35 p.m. on Sunday, a victim reported a theft from a residence on the 500-block of E. Gambier Street.  Among the missing items were $75.00 in cash, approximately 60 Xanax tablets, and bottle of Tramadol tablets.

At 5:45 a.m. on Monday, an officer noticed a 2005 Jeep Renegade parked on the 100-block of E. Lamartine Street with expired plates—from 2010.  Dispatch advised that the vehicle had been stopped and the driver warned about the expired registration in April 2012.  The officer contacted the owner of the residence, Dawn Coe, who explained that the vehicle was registered to her deceased father  but that she had not yet had time to figure out how to get the vehicle transferred to her name.  The officer reminded her that four years had passed since the license expired and two years had passed since the warning was issued and told her that he was impounding the vehicle.  Coe removed personal items from the vehicle and gave the officer its key/remote.  The vehicle was towed to the impound lot.  The officer suggested that Coe contact the BMV regarding how to transfer the vehicle to her name.

At 6:15 p.m. on Monday, a caller reported drug activity at a residence on the 100-block of E. Hamtramck Street.  A juvenile suspect was arrested and items of drug paraphernalia—including a blue-and-white glass bowl with black residue, a spoon, a grinder, two used syringes, a glass vial, and four straws with white powder—were collected as evidence.

At 6:40 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to a disturbance at a residence on the 700-block of Follin Avenue.

At 9:30 p.m. on Monday, a victim reported that personal property—a Briggs & Stratton deck—had been removed from outside her residence on the 100-block of Prospect Street.
