HOWARD — All eyes were trained on the midcourt stripe between the JV and varsity games at East Knox High School on Friday night.
Senior Blake Elliott was named first team All-Ohio for his prowess on the football field, but was honored at the Bulldogs basketball game.
Following the ceremony where Elliott was recognized and awarded a plaque, East Knox Athletic Director, Scott Brickner expressed his pride.

“You know we have had some success lately and Blake has been a huge part of that,” Brickner said.
Elliott has been a standout since strapping on the shoulder pads for the first time at East Knox.
“He was here when we were a playoff team in his freshman season. He was a starting linebacker that year, you do not see too many freshman starting as linebackers,” Elliott said.
In addition to being one of the leading tacklers for the Bulldogs defense, Elliott rushed for over 300 yards twice in his career.
“He had been the heart and soul of this team,” the athletic director said.
What’s next?
“Many colleges have contacted me about him, but he loves it here and he wants to be a firefighter and work the farm with his dad,” Brickner said. “He is a hometown boy.
“He wants to stay local and we’re glad to have him.”
