FREDERICKTOWN — Junior Gavin Toombs scored 17 points and Fredericktown controlled the action throughout to earn an impressive 78-46 win against Danville in Friday night’s Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference basketball game.

Blake Sipes pumped in 16 points and Brode Davis had 13 points as nine Freddies reached the scoring column.

Junior Ashton Spaulding was the only Blue Devil to reach double figures with 15 points.

Fredericktown moved in front 12-9 through the first quarter, and opened a 37-24 halftime bulge. The Freddies opened the gap to 62-30 at the end of the third period, and coasted in the final eight minutes.

The Freddies have won a dozen in a row, improving to 12-2 overall, 10-0 and alone atop the KMAC standings.

Danville falls to 4-11, 1-8. The Blue Devils are back in action Tuesday when Northmor visits.

In recent action on Jan. 10, Fredericktown faced off against Centerburg and Danville took on Mansfield Christian on Jan. 18 at Danville High School.
