June Eileen Carpenter, age 97, of Fredericktown passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 13, 2025, with her loving family at her side.
She was born on June 14, 1927, in Gambier, Ohio to the late Lester and Irene (Ackerman) Carter. June was a graduate of Gambier High School. She was employed at Dana Corporation in Fredericktown as an assembler. June was active at both the Fredericktown Senior Building and the Fredericktown Senior Activity Center. She enjoyed shopping and going out to eat with friends. But most of all, she loved attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s ballgames.
She is survived by her sons, James (Connie) Carpenter, Larry “Duke” (Dalene) Carpenter, Jeffrey (Kim) Carpenter; her grandchildren, Ty (Lori) Carpenter, Tess (Joe) Dumbaugh, Laine (Ryan) Shoemaker, Chad (Erin) Carpenter, Dawn (Christian) Toombs, Lindsay (Barry) Moore, Curtis (Tara) Carpenter; and her great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Cally, Colter, Livie, Lincoln, Ellie, Nora, Emery, Allyn, Chase, Peyton, Maddie, Gavin, Gracyn, Alex, Avery, Nolan, Ryan, and Case.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband Ronald “Red” Carpenter; her sisters, Carolyn Seymour, Mary Houle; and her brothers, Harold Carter, Jack Carter and David “Jake” Carter.
Friends may call on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 12-1pm at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A service will follow, beginning at 1pm, with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating. Burial will take place in Forest Cemetery.
