DANVILLE — Danville’s dominant defense turned in a command performance to lead the Blue Devils to a 12-0 win over Centerburg in a Knox Morrow Athletic Conference clash on Friday night.

Senior Aidan Burke gave Danville all the points it would need with a 20-yard touchdown bolt late in the first quarter for a 6-0 edge. The two-point conversion failed and the game stayed that way into halftime.

Senior Jacob Hackman’s 5-yard TD blast pushed the advantage to 12-0, and again the conversion try was missed.

But the two-score gap was plenty of cushion considering Danville’s splendid defensive performance.

The Blue Devils improved to 6-2 overall, 4-1 in the KMAC, and will host Fredericktown on Friday night.

The Trojans dropped to 5-3, 3-2, and will welcome East Knox in a home date next week.

Northmor edged Mount Gilead 16-14 on Friday night to remain atop the KMAC standings, a game in front of Danville.
