Michael Andrew “Moof” Miller, age 82, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.

He was born on September 27, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio to the late William Howard and Mary Lou (Crail) Miller.

Michael was a retired Columbus Firefighter.  He was also a Vol. firefighter for the Bladensburg Fire Dept, Instructor for the Columbus Fire and Hazmat Unit.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving as a helicopter repairman and firefighter during his service.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting and collecting antiques.

Michael is survived by his two daughters, Michele (Trent) Soles of Columbus and Amy Miller of Mount Vernon, grandchildren, Blake (Gabbi), Tiara (Nate), Ariele (Justin), Grace (Sam), Adam, Erica and Carlee (Alex), 14 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Pat and Dale Miller, sister, Pam Coate, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Miller and a brother, Geoffery Miller.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Snyder Funeral Home -Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon.  A celebration of life service will follow at 11:00 AM.  Inurnment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
