Letter to the Editor in purple lettering on envelope

Dear editor,

I just learned something concerning: Our sitting U.S. Congressman has refused to debate his challenger, Jerrad Christian.

Christian approached Congressman Balderson in person to request a debate and has followed up with several social media posts. Denison University even offered them a venue. But Balderson has declined.

I thought all Americans believed in the right of voters to know as much as possible about candidates before they vote. Balderson may think he doesn’t have to debate in order to win this election. But I think that a sitting Congressman should be required to debate, if challenged. The fact that Balderson refuses to debate his opponent is an automatic reason for me not to vote for him.

I hope your readers will join me in voting for Jerrad Christian for U.S. Congress. He is an Ohio native and Navy veteran who has fresh ideas, cares deeply about our future, wants our country to provide equal opportunity for everyone, and wants to debate Mr. Balderson.
