James E. McMillin, 92, of Dayton passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on November 7, 1931 in Canton to the late James B. McMillin and Katherine L. (Welch) McMillin Stuart.
Jim honorably served in the Air Force from 1955 to 1959 earning the rank of Captain. He retired from the United States Government where he was an Aeronautical Engineer.
Jim is survived by his children, Kevin McMillin of Dayton, Kelley (Ricky) Pearson of Dayton, Carrie Davis of Dayton, Phillip (Rosie) Karns of Oklahoma City, OK, and John (Shelly) Karns of Tampa, FL; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and sister, Mary Ann (John) Sexton of Mansfield.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Ave. Chapel, 2553 Lexington Ave., Mansfield with Mr. Roger Marra officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Dayton in James’ memory.
