MOUNT VERNON — Fred Dailey, chairman of the Knox County Republican Party,
announced that the Knox County Republican Central Committee is accepting applications for the vacant position of Mount Vernon City Auditor, an elected office.
Applicants must be a registered Republican and a resident of the City of Mount Vernon.
A party screening committee will interview and do a background check on applicants and make recommendations to the Mount Vernon members of the Knox County Republican Central Committee. The Central Committee members will then meet and vote on the appointment to fill the vacancy.
The successful appointee will then need to run for election in 2025.
Applications will be accepted until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Applicants must send a resume and/or letter of interest to Dailey at fredldailey@hotmail.com.
