APPLE VALLEY — The Apple Valley Lake Social Club is bringing back another event from past years. A Cruise In & Ice Cream Social will take place at Floral Valley Hall, 850 Crestrose Dr. on Sunday, Sept. 8 from noon to 4 p.m.

Do you have a special car to show off? How about sharing a peek with the community?

There is no registration charge, but if you can, please pre-register by contacting AppleValleyLakeSocialClub@gmail.com.

“We would like to get as many participants registered before the day to help us plan on parking,” organizers stated.

All participants need to be parked by 11:30 a.m. for safety reasons.

“It will save us time and also give us a heads up of how many cars we should expect,” organizers noted. “We also will have an area for participants to set up tables for a swap meet if they wish.”

Volunteers will be on site at 9:30 a.m. setting up and would be able to help participants park anytime after that until 11:30 a.m.

Follow the signs and look for the volunteers in the snazzy orange vests. The rain date is Sept. 15.

“If we need to cancel due to rain, all registered participants will receive an email by 9 a.m. on Sept. 8,” organizers stated.

Come hungry. The Apple Valley Singers will be serving up great food from noon to 4 p.m. inside Floral Valley.

The Boy Scouts will be hosting a bake sale outside — and don’t forget the ice cream. Round Hill Dairy will be bringing its ice cream truck loaded with your favorite flavors.

Apple Valley’s own Greg Ulen will be providing music, and there will be a huge table of raffle items for you to win (so bring some cash!).

“We’re also doing something special for the kids,” organizers stated. “BLUEY will be making an appearance from 1 to 3 p.m. to say hello and get a photo.”

Each child under 12 will get a free raffle ticket for a drawing from their own special group of prizes.

“We’re also working on getting emergency vehicles available for them to check out,” organizers stated.

Spectator parking will be past Floral Valley towards the dog park.

Watch for the people in orange vests who will be directing you based on where you need to go. Once you are at the parking lot, stop by the registration table to pick up your dashboard plaque if you have a car.

Trophies will be handed out for People’s Choice, so everyone coming in should stop by the registration table and get a ballot to choose your favorite car. The event is free, but food, raffle and 50/50 tickets will require cash.
