Wesley Steven Spaulding, age 55, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was born on February 12, 1969, in St. Charles, Illinois the son of Rev. Glenn and Phyllis (Chesman) Spaulding.
He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in Ohio and was very active in the Special Olympics, winning a number of awards in many different events. Wesley worked numerous jobs and always received high recommendations from his employers.
Wesley was truly a Bible scholar, having read thru the Scriptures several times. He also loved 50s and 60s music…Elvis Presley and the Beach Boys among his favorites. He also traveled extensively throughout America with his family.
Wesley is survived by his mother, Phylliss Spaulding Butler, a brother, Rev. David (Toni) Spaulding, a sister, Penny Spaulding, brother in-law, Fred McGowan, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
We can hear Wesley saying, “We Made It! “when he graduated from High School…. Those words now echo in our ears as he has pro claimed “We Made It “when he stepped into the Gates of Paradise as he was greeted by Jesus and our loved ones who have gone on before!
