Twila M. Freeman, 88, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Mount Vernon Health and Rehabilitation surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 17, 1935, in Frazeysburg, Ohio to the late Russell and Bessie (Hogle) Mizer.

Twila was a member of the Fallsburg Baptist Church/Perry Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her 10 children, Esther (Jeff) Hensley of Utica, Lester (Jennifer) Morningstar of Frazeysburg, Ellen (Bob) Colopy of Danville, Larry (Sue) Morningstar of Walhonding, Leslie (Tammy) Morningstar of Martinsburg, Evelyn (Bob) Smith of Gambier, Eve (Mark) Ledbetter of Hanover, Lee (Julia) Morningstar of Heath, Lynn (Jill) Morningstar of Howard, Eileen (Troy) Hill of Howard; brothers, Edwin Mizer and Stanley (Rhonda) Mizer both of Mount Vernon; 39 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren.

Twila was preceded in death by three husbands, Jacob Dean Morningstar, Charles Bodle, and Jack R. Freeman; a daughter, Elaine Morningstar; a son, Leon Morningstar; and two brothers, Maurice and Carol Mizer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon. Where funeral services will be held on Thursday starting at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bryan Dahlke officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery – Bladensburg.
