Carol A. Maxwell, age 81, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 9, 1942, in North Hampton, Massachusetts, the daughter of James and Stella (Broderick) McCullough. Carol earned her bachelor’s degree in computer science from DeVry and retired in 2011 as a buyer for the Ariel Company in Mount Vernon.
Carol was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed taking care of her flower garden, finding a good place to eat that serves a fine wine, and traveling, but most important was the quality time she spent with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of over 20 years, Terry Maxwell, her daughter, Lisa (Craig) Collins of Galena, stepdaughter, Becky Maxwell of Mount Vernon, stepson, Kevin (Katie) Maxwell of Panama City, Florida, three grandchildren, Izzy Maxwell, Emory Maxwell, Ella Maxwell and her canine companion Sophie.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Jenn Maxwell.
The family will observe private services at a later date with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Carol A. Maxwell.
