MOUNT VERNON — Konner Daughriety was a model of consistency.

The North Central Ohio Player of the Year, Daughriety capped his high school career with a second straight berth on the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association Division I All-Ohio first team, and a second consecutive Ohio Cardinal Conference Player of the Year citation.

As a junior, Daughriety batted .512 (42-82) with 36 runs batted in and 31 runs scored. As a senior, Daughriety again batted .512 (42-82), with 30 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He accounted for 19 extra-base hits as a junior (nine doubles, five triples, five home runs) and 20 extra-base hits as a senior (13 doubles, one triple, six homers).

While the Ashland University-bound Daughriety’s stats were almost identical, the one notable difference between his junior and senior seasons was his team’s success.

Mount Vernon won the OCC title after finishing runner-up to Wooster last spring. The Yellow Jackets also won a sectional title for the first time since 2017. Daughriety was the pitcher of record in the sectional final, firing a complete-game two-hitter in a 7-0 win over Logan.

Daughriety is the centerpiece of an all-area offense that includes 10 All-Ohioans. Here’s a look at north central Ohio’s best:
