GAMBIER — Parking spots on Wiggin Street are being converted from angled to parallel within the next 30 days in Gambier

The parking-related ordinance was passed unanimously at Monday’s village council meeting.

The spots on Wiggin Street being changed from angled to parallel are from College Park Street to Acland Street.

Along with the parking change, parking spaces on E. Wiggin Street from Gaskin Ave. to College Park St. are being removed.

Parking spots were removed due to safety concerns with cars and pedestrians headed east on Wiggin Street.

Also at the meeting, council heard the first reading of the updated food truck ordinance.

The village didn’t change the $75 application fee because operators are now required to follow noise ordinances of fewer than 60 decibels.

According to the ordinance, one food may operate in the village Monday through Thursday — though council recommended amending the legislation to include Monday as a weekend since there are fewer food options available.

Food trucks can’t have excessive lighting and flashing lights, according to the ordinance.
