MOUNT VERNON – NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) of Knox and Licking Counties invites the community to make reservations for their 68th anniversary celebration. The event will be held November 9, 2017 5:30 p.m. at the Gallagher Center, 1451 Gambier Road.
Following a buffet dinner the keynote address will be given Dr. John Ackerman, the Suicide Prevention Coordinator of Nationwide Children’s Hospital Center for Suicide Prevention and Research. Dr. Ackerman directs community, school, and hospital efforts to educate others about the risks and warning signs of pediatric suicide.
Former Knox County Health Commissioner Dennis Murray is also scheduled to speak. His presentation is titled, “In my Own Voice – a story about an ongoing journey of recovery and breaking down barriers of living with a mental health disorder. “
