Helga A Johnson, 87, of Howard, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024, at home surrounded by family.
Helga was born in Germany on November 5, 1936, to Alfred and Maria (Nitsche) Mittman.
After meeting her husband of 64 years while he was stationed in Germany, she joined him on his return to the US. Here they raised 3 children, and subsequently 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Helga longed to become a US citizen and was granted admission to United States citizenship on September 14, 1976.
Helga was a lover of knitting, gardening, camping and most importantly her family. She dedicated her life to nurturing her loved ones, providing hand crafted clothing, home grown flowers, travel, and unity, always with a camera in hand. Birthdays and holidays were never forgotten and always documented on film. She spent her last days knitting and surrounded by those she adored.

Grimes, Steve (Jeff) Johnson and Kim Siebert; Her grandchildren, Justin (Brittany) Grimes, Jessica Carroll, Brenden Siebert, and their families.
