Gary E. Hawk Sr., 68, of Mount Vernon passed away on Friday morning, March 29, 2024 at the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Mount Vernon. He was born on April 24, 1955 to the late Clinton E. and Hazel M. (Gainer) Hawk.
Gary lived a simple life and required very little in material things. He loved to hunt mushrooms, fish, and playing bingo. Gary also enjoyed watching old westerns and the old TV shows. Gary asked Jesus into his heart several months before he passed and he is now with his Savior.
Gary is survived by his children, Valerie Hawk and Gary (Sara) Hawk Jr.; four grandchildren; his siblings, Clinton (Sheryl) Hawk Jr., David (Alice) Hawk, Don (Debbie) Hawk and Sue (Elmer) Hicks; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Tina (Prosser) Hawk; brothers, George and Virgil Hawk; and a sister, Iris Snyder.
The family will have a private burial in Forest Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Country Club Rehabilitation Campus and DaVita Diaylsis for the wonderful care they provided to Gary.
