Frederick W. “Fritz” Chase, 86, of Fredericktown passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Bennington Glen in Marengo with family by his side. He was born on November 16, 1937 in Fredericktown to the late Lewis M. and Edna (Fike) Chase.
Fritz served in the Air National Guard earning the rank of Airman 2nd Class. He was a third-generation dairy farmer and after retiring from dairy farming, Fritz drove school bus for Highland Schools. Fritz was a 60-year member of the Chester Masonic Lodge where had served as Master of the Lodge. He was a Methodist by faith.
Fritz is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara A. (Chilcote) Chase; children, David (Sharon) Chase, Dennis (Diana) Chase, and Deborah (Curt) Douglas; grandchildren, Kyle (Krystle) Wood, Michael Noel and Samuel Douglas; 5 great grandchildren; a sister, Luella (Warren) Woodford; nephew, Donald Woodford; niece, Nancy (Louie) Woods; and a great nephew, Vincent Woods.
In addition to his parents, Fritz was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Chase.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Fredericktown Chapel, 33 East College St., Fredericktown. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 in Maple Grove Cemetery, Chesterville with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating.
