KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 597 women’s volleyball student-athletes have been named 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes.

Receiving the recognition from MVNU is  Katelyn Dufur, Alyssa Harrer, Audrey McCullough, and Kristen Osborn. 

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

For Dufur, the senior from Mount Vernon, this is her first time receiving the award. Upon wrapping up her final season with the team this year, she will be turning her full attention to completing her degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. 

Harrer receives this recognition for the first time. The Wynford graduate is a junior who looks to head in to the offseason and devote her time to working toward her degree in Early Childhood Education.

McCullough takes home the honor for the second time in as many years. The senior from Newark, now will focus on completing her degree in mechanical engineering as she finishes up her collegiate career. 

For Osborn, the senior from Salem, Ohio, this also marks the second time receiving the award. Now that her volleyball career is finished, she will look to obtain her biology degree and embark on her Physician’s Assistant work.
