Martha Jane Goetzman, age 83, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 22, 1940, in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Homer and Opal (Jones) Fultz.
Martha retired from Wiggin Street Elementary School where she was a secretary for over 27 years. She has been a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon since 1974, where she loved playing the piano. Martha enjoyed her time on the Board of Christian Education and participated in many other church activities. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and attending her boys’ and grandkids’ many activities.
Martha is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jerry Goetzman; sons, Kerry (Tammy) Goetzman, Rick (Jody) Goetzman; grandchildren, Bob (Ashli) Goetzman, Kelly (Todd) Hawkins, Ryan (Megan Bertke) Goetzman, Austin (Chelsea) Goetzman, Katelyn (Tyler) McCann, Kacie Goetzman, Brad (Molly) Fenton; great grandchildren, Tyler, Madilynn, Carter, Quinn, Ada, Semiya and a sister, Loraine Kiritsis.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church; 303 South Edgewood Road, Mount Vernon. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 1:00pm with Pastor Bill Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
