KNOX COUNTY – Women United of Knox County is excited to announce its participation in Leap Into Literacy Day, honoring the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

This special day recognizes the invaluable contribution of the Imagination Library program, which delivers children’s books to kids every month until their 5th birthday. Women United of Knox County is dedicated to promoting early childhood literacy and ensuring that every child has access to books and educational resources from the very beginning.

Leap Into Literacy Day is a celebration of the power of literacy and early childhood education. It highlights the importance of starting literacy initiatives early in a child’s life and emphasizes that learning begins long before a child enters the classroom. By supporting programs like the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Women United of Knox County aims to foster a love of reading and learning from an early age.

“We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in literacy, regardless of their background or circumstances,” said Halle Krajenski, Program Director for United Way of Knox County. “Leap Into Literacy Day allows us to celebrate the joy of reading and to raise awareness about the importance of early childhood literacy initiatives like the Imagination Library.”

Women United of Knox County recognizes that investing in early childhood education is crucial for the future success of our community. By promoting literacy and providing access to books, they are helping to set children on a path toward lifelong learning and achievement.
