FREDERICKTOWN — Knox Morrow Athletic Conference co-champs Fredericktown and Northmor stole the show when the All-KMAC boys basketball team was announced.
Northmor’s Grant Bentley was selected the Player of the Year, while Fredericktown’s Gavin Toombs and Blake Sipes and Northmor’s Jaxson Wenger were selected to the first team. Northmor’s Blade Tackett was the Coach of the Year.
The Freddies and Golden Knights tied atop the KMAC standings at 10-2. The teams split during the regular season.
Bentley led the KMAC in scoring, averaging 19.2 points a game. Toombs averaged 16.7 points and a KMAC-high 9.1 rebounds a game. Sipes was good for 15 points and 6.2 boards a night.
Other first-teamers included Centerburg’s Grayson Reynolds and Trevin Harris and Cardington’s A.J. Brehm. Reynolds averaged 11.5 points a game while Harris averaged 11.7 points a night.
Second-team selections were Centerburg’s Isaiah Sule, Danville’s Ashton Spaulding, East Knox’s Corbin Poff-Wengerd, Cardington’s Warren Garrison, Mount Gilead’s Rowan Fitzpatrick and Northmor’s Hunter Fulk.
Honorable-mention selections included Centerburg’s Bennett Hill, Danville’s Wesley Payne, East Knox’s Bryer Korosec, Fredericktown’s Carson Rinehart, Cardington’s Journey Williamson, Mount Gilead’s Gage Baker and Northmor’s Drew Hammond.
The KMAC’s All-Academic picks were Cardington’s A.J. Hall, East Knox’s Ethan Rine, Fredericktown’s Trevor Bellman and Northmor’s Logan Caudill.
