Lowell C. Rollins III, age 63, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon. He was born on September 14, 1955 in Mount Vernon, Ohio the son of Lowell C. and Carole (Sturtevant) Rollins Jr. Lowell previously owned Rollins Auto Service, worked at Shamrock Plastics and most recently owned and operated Rollins Lawn Service.
Lowell was a 1973 graduate of Laurel High School in Laurel, Maryland. He loved sports and was an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats where his son played college football. He also loved his Washington Redskins and Washington Capitals. Lowell was a faithful member of AA in Mount Vernon.
Lowell was a big man in stature and he matched it with a heart of gold. He always enjoyed his fellowship and companionship with so many family members and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by Becky Rollins of Mount Vernon; a son, Jason (Julia) Rollins of Louisa, Kentucky; a grandson, Jason “Jase” Rollins; four sisters, Lisa (David) DeVore of Mount Vernon, Karen (W.E.) Proffitt of Charlottesville, Virginia, Kirsten (Adam) Schramm of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Linda Rollins of Winchester, Virginia; brothers-in-law, George “Mike” (Pam) Goodwin, Glen (Lisa) Goodwin, Dale (Kathy) Goodwin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jon Wise and his grandparents.
Friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a Celebration of Life service will begin at 6 p.m. The family will observe a private burial.
Memorial contributions in Lowell’s name may be made to Kindred Hospice or AA of Mount Vernon.
