Crash Report

  • Jan. 12 – Jonathan M. Loman was traveling southbound on Old Delaware Rd. and stopped for the traffic light at Harcourt Rd. An unknown driver also traveling southbound behind Loman, failed to stop and rear-ended Loman. The unknown driver then left the area.
  • Jan. 13 – While traveling northbound on S. Main St. Matthew Davod Contreras failed to stop and struck the rear of Bai Koroma who was facing northbound on S. Main St. and stopped for a red light. Contreras was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
  • Jan. 14– An unknown driver on Ames St. left the roadway and struck a utility pole. The driver left the scene before anybody could identify him.

Incident Report

  • Jan. 12 – An officer responded to a Coshocton Ave. business on a shoplifting complaint. When the officer arrived he made contact with a store security employee who had the suspect in custody. The suspect was issued a summons in lieu of arrest, charging him with petty theft. The merchandise, a single rose, was returned to the business.
  • Jan. 12 – At approximately 2:05 A.M. an officer responded to a Delano St. residence in reference to a burglary. When the officer arrived, he made contact with the complainant who had apprehended the suspect, who was not named in this report. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail.
  • Jan. 12 – At approximately 1:24 A.M. officers were dispatched to a Delano St. residence on a burglary in progress. A male suspect, Justin Shaw, was apprehended and charged with breaking into two houses on Delano St. between S, Main St. and Newark Rd. Shaw was transported to the Knox County Jail; A report was forwarded to the County Prosecutor’s Office to review for additional charges.
  • Jan. 12 – At approximately 1:03 A.M. two officers responded to a N. Main St. area on a report of a disturbance. After officers arrived, they arrested James E. Long, Jr. for disorderly conduct with persisting. After Long was transported to Knox Community Hospital for treatment of unrelated injuries, he continued his disorderly conduct and was additionally charged with misconduct in a medical facility. Long was transported to and incarcerated in the knox County Jail.
  • Jan.12 – At approximately 10:45 A.M. an officer responded to Third Ave. on a report of a found hypodermic needle. The needle was found and disposed of in the sharps container of car #3.
  • Jan. 12 – An officer responded to a shoplifting complaint a Coshocton Ave. business. While en route to the business the officer located the vehicle the suspects reportedly left in. Through investigation, it was discovered the items found in the suspect’s car were stolen from multiple stores. An investigation is pending and this report will be supplemented as new information becomes available.
  • Jan. 12 – An officer was in the parking lot of a Coshocton Ave. business working a theft case. Joshua Jacobs was in the area and became belligerent, yelling and screaming obscenities. The officer warned Jacobs several times but he continued to be disorderly in front of shoppers and children. Jacobs was taken into custody and charges were filed.
  • Jan. 14 – A theft was reported at a Coshocton Ave. business. When an officer arrived he was told by a store employee that a male subject entered the store and placed one bottle of alcohol and one can of alcohol in a black bag he was carrying. The subject then left the store without paying for the items. The investigation continues and any new information will be supplemented to this report.
  • Jan. 14 – Units responded to the Grand Hotel concerning a disturbance with a male who had rented a room. The hotel told officers they just wanted the subject off the property. The officer received permission to give a courtesy ride to the subject to another establishment. The subject was asked if he had anything illegal. He told officers he had drugs and drug paraphernalia. Both items were found in his bag after receiving verbal permission to search. The items were placed into evidence and the subject was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Jan. 14 – A theft was reported at a Coshocton Ave. business. A store employee told officers he observed a female suspect select several items from different areas of the store and attempt to leave without playing for them. The suspect was issued a court summons.
  • Jan. 14 – An officer was dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business in reference to a theft. After reviewing security footage and speaking to management, the known individuals were contacted and the snow shovel that was stolen was returned.

  • Jan. 11 – Carolyn Beheler,82, Fredericktown, was cited for failure to yield.
  • Jan. 11 – William Taylor, 28, Ravenna, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and having an open container.
  • Jan. 11 – Jessie Majors, 38, N. Mulberry St. was charged with theft.
  • Jan. 11 – Todd Punches, 29, Howard St. was charged with theft.
  • Jan. 12 – James Long, 29, Columbus,was arrested and charged with misconduct at a medical facility and with disorderly conduct with persisting.
  • Jan. 12 – Justin Shaw, 30, N. Sandusky, was arrested for burglary.
  • Jan. 12 – Jason Stevens, 38, Locust St. was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct with persisting, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief.
  • Jan. 12 – Dustin Runyon, 32, E. Chestnut St. was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
  • Jan. 12 – Karissa Moody, 41, E. Pleasant St. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
  • Jan. 12 – Kiknei Rush, 35, E. Vine St. was arrested at a traffic stop for an unspecified charge.
  • Jan. 12 – Kayla Schaade, 29, Harcourt Rd. was arrested and charged with theft.
  • Jan. 12 – Jeffery Petrey, 44, S. Catherine St. was arrested for theft and criminal trespass.
  • Jan. 13 – Matthew Woody, W. Sugar St. was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • Jan. 13 – Matthew Contreras, 40, Beavercreek, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
  • Jan. 14 – Austin Hinson, 24, Howard, was cited for driving under the influence, failure to drive in marked lanes.
  • Jan. 14 – George Payne, 47, Wooster Rd. was arrested for theft.
  • Jan. 14 – Thomas Starr, 57, Groveport, was arrested for possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.
  • Jan. 14 – Tarta Carolus, 29, Newark, OH. was arrested for shoplifting.
