Anthony W. “Tony” John, age 70, of Mount Vernon passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus.

He was born on February 4, 1953, in Mount Vernon, to the late Peter and Elladean (Phillips) John. Tony was employed, for over 30 years, at the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) as a bridge worker from which he retired in 2009. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a proud member of the Mid-Ohio Harley Owners Group (MOHOG). He also enjoyed hunting. But most of all, Tony loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, of over 45 years, Patricia “Pat” (Andrews) John; his sons, Lee (Theresa) John, Andy John, Josh (Mandy) John; five grandchildren, Elizabeth John, Sarah John, Luke John, Lexi John, Myla John; and his sisters, Barbara (Dave) Dresel and Marilyn Shriver.

Friends may call on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home (619 E. High St. Mount Vernon) from 11am – 1pm. A service will follow, beginning at 1pm, with Mr. Mark Boucher officiating. Tony will be buried in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
