Patricia N. McCulloh, age 92, of Gambier, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 9, 1931, in Tucson, Arizona, to the late Roy Frederick and Mabel (Whildin) Nilson.

Patricia attended Worthington High School, Wesleyan University in Connecticut, and graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S., B.F.A., and M.F.A. An accomplished artist, she produced a wide range of colorful work throughout her life, including paintings, prints, drawings, and handmade rugs. She also taught art at Shore Junior High from 1954-1955 and at Kenyon College from 1972-1980 and occasionally thereafter. In 1956 Patricia married William McCulloh, Classics professor at Kenyon as well. They moved from Connecticut to Gambier, Ohio, in 1961 and have resided there since. Both are members of Harcourt Parish, Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Gambier.

Patricia is survived by her husband; children, Ann McCulloh, Michael McCulloh; a brother, Dr. Bjorn Nilson; nieces, Jennifer Hume and Kirsti O’Brien; and nephew Morgan Nilson.

Along with her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by a niece, Erin Nilson.

A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 1pm at the Church of the Holy Spirit – Kenyon College; 102 College Park St, Gambier, OH 43022. A simple after service coffee will take place in the chapel.

Memorial contributions to be made to; Harcourt Parish, The William McCulloh Scholarship Fund at Kenyon or Doctors Without Borders.
