MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Park District has announce the addition of Brandon Schroepfer to its team.
Brandon is not only our newest employee, he is also filling a new Park District position as Natural Resource Manager/Naturalist.
A native of Colorado, Brandon graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Biology and with a concentration in Wildlife Biology.
Most of his professional career has been spent with state and city parks in Boulder and Rifle, Colorado and the Iowa and Wisconsin Departments of Natural Resources.
Most recently, he was employed by the City of Powell.
Schroepfer’s new responsibilities will include managing the natural resources for all Park District lands, woodlands, ponds and wildlife, coordinating the white-tailed deer management program, managing non-native and/or invasive species, developing and implementing educational and recreational programs for the public.
He will also be coordinating and overseeing the volunteer program, the volunteer citizen-science projects as well as the intern program.
When not spending time with his lovely wife, Becca, Brandon enjoys fishing, hunting, camping and hiking.
