MORRIS TOWNSHIP — A 20-year-old Mount Vernon man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Sunday, according to the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Colton R. Suain, 20, of Mount Vernon, was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.

The incident took place at 3:55 a.m. on County Road 6 (Upper Fredericktown Road) in Morris Township of Knox County.

According to the Patrol, Suain was operating a 2014 Kia Forte traveling south on County Road 6. His vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck a tree, and overturned.

The Patrol stated that alcohol use is suspected to be a factor in the crash. Suain was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Knox County Sheriff’s Officer, Mount Vernon Fire and EMS, and Mike’s Marathon Towing.

The crash remains under investigation.
