Carl Wells, 34, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday on an outstanding warrant.
Traffic Citations:
April Young, 31, of Mount Vernon was cited at 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday for operating a vehicle without a license and for making an illegal turn at an intersection.
Accidents:
At 4:10 p.m. on Wednesday, April Rose Young, 31, of Mount Vernon was traveling southbound in the right-lane of N. Mulberry Street in her 1993 Ford Tempo. Annika U. Lester, 41, of Mount Vernon was also heading southbound on N. Mulberry Street in her 2014 Ford Fusion but was in the left-lane. Young attempted to turn left onto W. Sugar Street and struck Lester’s vehicle. Young was cited for the incident.
Incidents:
At 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a structure fire on the 200-block of Shirley Avenue. An investigation remains ongoing.
At 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday, a victim reported the theft of several items—including several credit cards—from an unlocked vehicle parked overnight outside a residence on the 700-block of W. High Street.
At 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday, a victim reported the theft of a dual-screen DVD-player from a vehicle parked overnight at a residence on the 900-block of W. High Street.
At 11:25 a.m. on Wednesday, a victim reported that her wallet was stolen while she shopped at the Wal-Mart.
