MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found 17 people guilty and sentenced two others after arraignments and hearings this week in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court.
These were the cases brought forward by the Mount Vernon Law Director’s Office:
JAN. 19
Labrea Howland, 34 of St. Clairsville, was found guilty of Resisting Arrest and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced her to serve 11 days in jail.
Toby Holt, 39 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine.
Law Director, Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon in these cases.
JAN. 18
Ronald Michels, 67, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
Brandon Wolfe, 43, of Utica, was found guilty of Driving without a Valid License and Failing to Use Headlights. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine.
Hollie Rainer, 32, of Howard, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension and Failing to Use a Turn Signal. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.
Paul Rhodes, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve three days in jail.
Cody Clark, 27, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Yield from Private Property. The Court sentenced him to pay a $40 fine.
Jamie Seidler, 27, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.
Calvin Jones, 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle with Fictitious Plates and Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine for the Fictitious Plates charge and to serve three days in jail for the DUS charge.
Lexus Robinson, 27, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced her to serve three days in jail.
Jeremy Morris, 33, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Obstructing Official Business. The Court sentenced him to serve 15 days in jail.
David Cross, 34, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Public Indecency and Petty Theft. The Court sentenced him to serve 60 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, for the Public Indecency charge. He was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and was placed on two years of probation for the Petty Theft charge.
Darlene Cross, 62, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Failing to Confine a Dangerous Dog. The Court sentenced her to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed her on two years of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, for the Possession charge. She was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and was placed on two years of probation for the Failure to Confine charge.
Christopher Swain, 51, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced him to serve one day in jail.
Steven Stricker, 64, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Criminal Mischief. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation.
Vickie Wetzel, 45, of Columbus, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed her on one year of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment as soon as is practicable.
Debra Smith, 63, of Howard, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or a Drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.
Braylyn Metcalfe-Daum, 25, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Endangering Children on December 14, 2021. Today she was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and was placed on two years of probation.
Craig Compton, 34, of Mount Gilead, was found guilty of five counts of Failing to File Taxes on Jan. 7, 2022. Today he was sentenced to serve 45 days in jail, with all time suspended, was placed on two years of probation, and ordered to pay $3,153.00 to the City of Mount Vernon.
