MOUNT VERNON -If you have a child who will be playing sports in the fall and he or she still needs to get a physical exam, you are in luck. The Knox County Health Department will host a special sports physical clinic on July 19 from 4-7 p.m.
The sports physical clinic will be conducted on a walk-in basis. No appointment is necessary. Doctor Emerson Laird and Nurse Practitioner Jackie Neighbarger will conduct the physical exams. There is a $20 fee for the exam. The health department accepts cash, checks and debit/credit cards for payment. Due to the discounted cost, insurance or Medicare will not be accepted as payment during this special clinic.
Students need to bring necessary paperwork provided by the school sports program. Students are also encouraged to bring their immunization records. If students are not accompanied by a parent, they should have their paperwork signed by a parent prior to attending the clinic.
