Bodies found on the Reese farm are marked with stars. Orange star: Paul Tish (1952). Lime star: Lester Melick (1953). Lavender star: Clyde Patton (1954). The approximate locations are based on newspaper reports of the period.

The body of Clyde Patton was found behind a barn which no longer stands today. Paul Tish was buried far behind the house in a field. Lester Melick’s body was found across the gravel road from Reese’s house, over the crest of the hill marked here with an arrow.

The Mohawk Dam remains in use today as dry dam which can catch flood waters in emergency situations. It is part of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District. It remains one of the most modern features in a very rural area.

The high ridge where the Cletus Reese farm is located is west-southwest of the Mohawk Dam. It’s approximate location is marked in this photo, taken from atop the dam, looking south down the Walhonding River.
