HOWARD — A not-so-straight blue line was found spray painted onto the paved East Knox Jr./Sr. High School parking lot Friday morning.
On Friday, Oct. 21, an employee with the East Knox School District notified a Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputy assigned to the school that vandalism had occurred on school grounds the previous night, according to the initial report. The report also states photographs were taken and video surveillance was reviewed and the matter is currently being investigated.
Covering the blue spray paint won’t cost the district a dime thanks to contractor Richland Sealcoating doing the job for free, East Knox Supt. Steve Larcomb said.
“At approximately 21:42 hours on Oct. 20, 2022, video surveillance from the board office shows a vehicle, believed to be a two-tone Ford Expedition, have multiple passengers,” the Knox County Sheriff’s Office incident report states. “The vehicle enters the east driveway (and) travels west as the passenger rear door is open.
“An unknown individual is seen leaning out of the passenger rear door with a spray paint can and you can see the individual actively spraying paint. The vehicle then exits through the middle entrance and heads back east toward Howard-Danville Road.”
Anyone with information on this vehicle is asked to contact the dispatch center at 740-397-3333 ext.1.
