MVPD reports December 10, 2013
Jessie M. Miller, 27, of Mount Vernon was charged just before 9:00 p.m. on Friday with theft from the Wal-Mart.
Jessica L. Mozier, 34, of Mount Vernon was also charged just before 9:00 p.m. on Friday with theft from the Wal-Mart.
Richard A. Henderson, 32, of Mount Vernon was picked up at 5:15 p.m. on Monday for a parole violation.
Elijah C. Barber, 21, of Mount Vernon was charged at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday with petty theft from the Kroger.
Nancy Patterson, 63, of Mount Vernon was charged at 8:15 p.m. on Monday with petty theft from the Wal-Mart.
Traffic Citations:
Angela Thorpe, 51, of Howard was cited at 4:45 p.m. on Monday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.
Danielle M. Kochis, 29, of Danville was cited just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.
Accidents:
At 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Mary Troyer, 39, of Glenmont was traveling eastbound on Coshocton Avenue in her 1998 Nissan Sentra. Angela Thorpe, 51, of Howard was immediately behind her in her 2001 Buick Park Avenue. When Troyer stopped for traffic near Upper Gilchrist Road, Thorpe rear-ended her vehicle. Thorpe was cited for the incident.
At around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Gary L. Stepp, 36, of Mount Vernon was heading eastbound on Coshocton Avenue in his 2002 Oldsmobile Intrepid. Danielle M. Kochis, 29, of Danville was immediately behind him in her 1999 Honda Civic. When Stepp slowed for traffic just past the Highland Drive intersection, Kochis rear-ended his vehicle. Kochis was cited for the incident.
Incidents:
Just after 6:15 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to an alarm at the new city garage on Old Delaware Road. Upon arrival, they checked both the exterior and interior of the building and found nothing amiss.
Just after 7:30 a.m. on Monday, a black Orange County Choppers trifold wallet was found on the 600-block of N. Sandusky Street and taken into custody by the MVPD. The wallet contained a Social Security card, a credit union card, a debit card, and miscellaneous other items.
Just after 9:00 a.m. on Monday, a disable vehicle was reported on the 000-block of Ames Street. An officer responded to the scene and the vehicle was towed away by A+ Towing.
At around 10:40 a.m. on Monday, an officer was flagged down and told about a disturbance at an office on the 300-block of N. Jefferson Street. The complainant met the officer at the police station and described what had happened. A cabinet door had been damaged and a suspect was identified.
At 8:15 a.m. on Monday, officers were dispatched on a panic alarm to a residence on the 300-block of Columbus Road. A suspect was identified but further details were not available.
Just after 4:45 p.m. on Monday, a resident of the 000-block of Grandview Drive came to the police station to report that someone had stolen two iPads he had purchased from Rent 2 Own. He provided the serial numbers for the items and identified a suspect.
At 4:40 p.m. on Monday, an officer responded to a complaint of an unruly juvenile at an apartment on the 100-block of McKinney Road.
At 7:05 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of broken glass in the pharmacy area of the Mount Vernon Animal Hospital. The exterior of the building appeared secure and, when a keyholder arrived to accompany the officers on a walk-thru, the interior seemed in order as well.
Just after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, an officer responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on the 000-block of Monroe Street. A P/A system head amplifier was missing and a suspect was identified.
