James Rodney Kessler, age 84, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Country Club Retirement Campus.
He was born on January 20, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio and was the son of the late Christian and Doris (Smothers) Kessler.
James is survived by his two sons, Garrett Kessler and Rod (Casey) Kessler; a daughter, Tracy (Bob) McFarland; twelve grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; along with two sisters, Kay Perry and Joy McAtee.
He was preceded in death by his son, Albert Kessler, brothers Dave Kessler and Gene Kessler, and a stepbrother, Ray Kessler.
Visitation will be Monday, June 8, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road in Mount Vernon. Where funeral services will be held on Tuesday starting at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery.
