Tyler Jon Bauer, 33, unexpectedly passed away on May 13, 2026, leaving behind family, friends, and a community who loved him deeply.
Tyler was a devoted father, loving fiancé, cherished son, and loyal friend to many. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Graceyn Bauer, age 9; his mother, Shannon Bauer; his fiancé, Paige Millner; grandparents, John Laughlin and Barb Laughlin; aunts Missy Keplinger, Kris Wojdyla, Kara Bauer, Terry Bauer, and Caycee Laughlin; uncles Matt Laughlin, Tom Keplinger, and Dan Bauer; along with many loving cousins, extended family members, and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eric Bauer; grandparents, Mel Bauer and Darlene Bauer; and uncle, Phil Wojdyla.
Tyler worked as a Suture Tech Nurse at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where he was known for his compassion and dedication.
Tyler’s greatest pride in life was being a devoted father to Graceyn, and he never missed a chance to be present in her life. From school events to softball games and everyday moments, he showed up with pride and love. His greatest joy was being her dad, and he looked forward to all the milestones still ahead.
Outside of fatherhood, Tyler’s life was centered around his family and his fiancé, Paige. He deeply loved Paige and was excited for their future together, including plans to officially marry and continue building a home and life as a family with Graceyn. Those close to them often noted that they didn’t wait for tradition —they were already wearing “wedding rings” and referring to each other as husband and wife. He took great pride in the life they were creating and the moments they shared together.
He enjoyed playing football in high school and remained a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He also loved tending to his small farm, which included goats and chickens.
To know Tyler was to feel like a friend. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and could strike up a conversation with anyone. His kindness, humor, and genuine personality drew people to him instantly. He was incredibly talented and hardworking — the kind of person who could fix anything he put his mind to, and if he didn’t already know how, he would teach himself until he figured it out. One of his favorite sayings was, “I don’t know everything, but I know a little about a lot.” That perfectly captured his determination, curiosity, and humble nature. Once Tyler started something, he never gave up.
Above all, Tyler will be remembered for the way he loved — fully, selflessly, and without hesitation. He leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever and a space in the hearts of his family and friends that can never be filled. Though his time here was far too short, the love he gave will continue to live on through everyone who knew him, especially his daughter, Graceyn.
He will forever be loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
A celebration of Tyler’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared when we are able to begin making arrangements.
