MOUNT VERNON — A number of cadets of the Knox County Airport Cadet Flight, Civil Air Patrol, received promotions during an April 6 ceremony at the Knox County Airport.

Cadet Airmen Asher Bressi and Chaiah Bressi have been promoted to Cadet Airmen 1st Class (C/A1C) upon completion of the General Henry “Hap” Arnold Achievement of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program.

Cadet A1C Trace Armstrong has been promoted to Cadet Senior Airman upon completion of the Mary Feik Achievement.

Second Lt. Harrison Lingel has received the Gen. Charles “Chuck” Yeager Aerospace Education Achievement Award.

This recognition is given to adult volunteers with the Civil Air Patrol upon demonstration of a fundamental knowledge of Aerospace.

The Knox County Airport Cadet Flight meets every Monday evening at 6 PM at the Knox County Airport terminal building.

The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program is open to youth ages 12 to 18.

The program focuses on Leadership, Aerospace Education, Physical Fitness and Character Development.
