James “Jim” Keith Simpson, 66, of Fredericktown, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, at his home.
Jim was born on August 31, 1959, in Wheeling, WV, to the late James and Winnie (Durigg) Simpson.
Jim was a graduate of Highland High School, Class of 1977. He met Pam Montgomery, and they married on September 22, 1984. Jim went on to serve a fulfilling career at Dublin Building Systems for 47 years, where he later retired in September of 2024.
He was known by many as outspoken and resilient—a man who never hesitated to speak his mind and stand firm in his values. Jim had an outgoing nature and truly never met a stranger; he had a way of striking up conversation with anyone, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.
Driven by his work, Jim took immense pride in everything he did. He was a stickler for a clean jobsite and a true taskmaster, holding himself and others to the highest standards. His work ethic was unmatched, and he instilled that same sense of discipline and integrity in those around him. Above all, he believed in honesty—living it daily and passing it on as one of his greatest lessons.
Though he carried a rough exterior, those closest to him knew the truth: Jim had a deeply soft heart. His kindness showed in quiet ways, in his loyalty, and in the care he gave to those he loved.
In his free time, he found joy in the simple things—camping trips to Tennessee, spending time mowing the lawn, and immersing himself in his passion as a tractor and machinery enthusiast. These moments brought him peace and reflected the life he built through hard work and dedication.
Jim was a great father, a role he cherished above all else. His guidance, strength, and example will continue to live on through his family.
Left to cherish Jim’s memories is his wife, Pam Simpson of Fredericktown, his children, Alisa (Cody) Blanton of Cardington and Tyler Simpson of Waldo; his grandchildren, Hayley, Shylah, Maison, Charlotte, Kimberly and Tiffany; and his siblings, Kenneth (Michelle) Simpson of Cardington and Jill (David) McCormick of Wellton, AZ.
