COLUMBUS — Ohio Department of Insurance Director Judith L. French and staff from the department’s Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP), the state’s official Medicare education and counseling program, are hosting a free virtual event on April 8 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to kick off OSHIIP’s spring ‘Welcome to Medicare’ outreach.
The event is for Ohioans new to Medicare or those who need a Medicare refresher.OSHIIP representatives will provide an overview of Medicare, Part A and B benefits, Part D prescription drug coverage, Medicare supplement plans, Medicare Advantage plans, eligibility, enrollment, financial assistance, and important deadlines.
Registration at insurance.ohio.gov is required.
In addition, OSHIIP is providing monthly ‘Welcome to Medicare’ webinars and virtual, individual Medicare counseling, accessible at insurance.ohio.gov.
