Martha Rose Mickley, age 101, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, while under the loving care of The Ohio Eastern Star Home staff and family.
She was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio on November 24, 1924, to Charles and Rose (Kremple) Pahl.
Martha was the mother of five children, Tom, Terry, Susan, Marianne and Jeanne, also the loving grandmother of three generations of grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Joseph Mickley in 1989; a son, Terry Mickley; grandson, D. Christian Mickley, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Martha was a graduate of St. Vincent High School in 1942 and Mount Carmel School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse serving as a WWII Nurse Cadet Corp member and was employed by Mercy Hospital. Martha also was the nurse for Danville Schools for many years before her retirement.
A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Monday, March 30, 2026 – 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Mark J. Hammond as Celebrant. Per Martha’s request, there will be no calling hours. Inurnment will be in St. Luke Cemetery in Danville.
