Colleen A. Brokaw, age 84, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at The Ohio Eastern Star Home.
She was born on December 26, 1941, in Danville and was the daughter to the late Edward L. and Mary C. (Solomon) Styers.
Colleen was a life-long resident of Knox County, born in Danville and raised on a farm south of Gambier. She graduated from Howard High School in 1960 and from the Mount Vernon Business School in 1962. She wed Larry Brokaw in 1964, with whom she had three children. Colleen was a Christian and member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church since childhood.
Colleen is survived by her son, Sean (Sheri) Brokaw; daughter, Kelly Brokaw; and a sister, Shirley Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry L. Brokaw in 2011; son, Larry L. Brokaw II; and a sister, Joanne Moore.
Private services will be held in Hopewell Cemetery, where she will be interred alongside her husband of 46 years. The Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel is handling the services for the family.
