MOUNT VERNON — Swing into spring with the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Jazz Band as it presents an evening of music Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. in Thorne Performance Hall of the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Fine Arts Center.
The community is invited to attend the free event.
The Jazz Band will perform a variety of jazz, contemporary pop, big band swing and Broadway standards.
Several soloists and guest soloists will be featured, including Dr. Ted Beuhrer on trumpet and adjunct music instructors Brian Dodd on drums and Andrew Clarkson on guitar.
The Jazz Band is one of five instrumental ensembles at MVNU and is directed by Chuck Dettmar. Members represent a variety of academic majors and denominational backgrounds.
