Shirley S. Kelley, 78, of Mount Vernon, OH passed away on February 17, 2026 at her residence. She was born on October 15, 1947 to Cecil and Margaret (Dye) Lawson in Richlands, Virginia.
Shirley was a member of VFW Auxiliary. She liked playing cards. Shirley enjoyed spending time at the Fredericktown Senior Center playing cards with her friends. She and Dan enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad. Shirley loved watching football of all varieties, but she was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan. She cherished her time with her grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her husband Dan; a daughter Erin (Mark) Fitzpatrick of Mount Vernon, OH; a son Brian (Susanne) Kelley of Howard, OH; grandchildren Andrew Fitzpatrick, Benjamin Fitzpatrick and Isabella Kelley; brothers Curtis (Mavis) Lawson of Chatham, AL, Roger (Laura) Lawson of Howard, OH; sisters-in-law Sandy Lawson of Mount Vernon, OH and Kim Staiger of Mount Vernon, OH; brother and sister-in-law Russ and Ada Carey of Mount Vernon, OH; many nieces, nephews extended family members; her dog Archie (who was not allowed to attend the funeral).
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Tony and Fred Lawson.
Calling hours will be Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Dowds – Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050 from 11:00am – 1:00pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:00pm.
